One of our favourite homeschool activities is our annual “Not Back To School” camp!  This year we headed out to Bethany Camp in Kaiteriteri in glorious weather with lots of fun games and friends.  Poppy and Adrienne sung a song at the concert – what a fabulous night!

It’s a very sad night for me as we share a last dinner and Wii games evening with my best friend, Janine.  She is leaving for Wellington tomorrow morning; a brand new amazing job and lots of wonderful adventures await her there.  Luckily, I have grabaseat on email alert and the seats from Nelson to Wellington are frequent and affordable.

After having fun at the Hips & Lips Christmas Party, Poppy got to spend the next afternoon with Ayla at our house and then later at the farm before bringing her

home to her mum.  The girls loved playing together as they are good friends who only see each other a couple of times a year now that Ayla’s family moved to Rangiora.  We are all looking forward to seeing Disney on Ice down in Christchurch together early next year.

We had a fabulous time in Christchurch visiting Ayla and meeting Qing Qing.  We stayed in a motel where we met Amy and her lovely kids. We spent time walking the streets of Christchurch contemplating the earthquake damage which was sobering and concerning.

The kids had a fabulous time at the sunny A&P show and having a swim at the gardens.  It was also wonderful to meet little Soul, Ayla & Jana’s new brother.
