For Adrienne’s first mother’s day Poppy & Fred gave her a gold poppy on a chain. Adrienne commented that she’s naming her next baby Diamond! We all spent the day over at the Pelorus Cafe with Ma & Pa and watched the Pelorus river from the lookout and played with the baby piglet the cafe had as a pet. It was the farthest Poppy has travelled and she was plum-tuckered out at the end of the day.
Motherhood is about raising - and celebrating - the child you have, not the child you thought you would have. It's about understanding that she is exactly the person she is supposed to be. And that, if you're lucky, she just might be the teacher who turns you into the person you are supposed to be.
