first haircut
We had a visit today from a neighbour who is a retired hairdresser. She gave Adrienne the confidence to give Poppy’s hair a trim in the bath while it was wet. Now that it’s dry, I’m not sure how good a job it is – however, Poppy looks less like a scarecrow! For her next haircut we will go to Ayla’s Mummy - a professional!
A couple of days later, Whitnie and Ayla come over after music for morning tea and to fix Poppy’s haircut!
Motherhood is about raising - and celebrating - the child you have, not the child you thought you would have. It's about understanding that she is exactly the person she is supposed to be. And that, if you're lucky, she just might be the teacher who turns you into the person you are supposed to be.
