Poppy has been to the beach at Rabbit Island several times now and she really enjoys the waves lapping around her legs. Her understanding of the surf and how to play in it has progressed each time we have visited the beach. I think we’ve come to the end of the warm weather – so we may have to play in the sand rather than the sea from now on.
Motherhood is about raising - and celebrating - the child you have, not the child you thought you would have. It's about understanding that she is exactly the person she is supposed to be. And that, if you're lucky, she just might be the teacher who turns you into the person you are supposed to be.
