Adrienne’s boss threw a Christmas BBQ party for all employees and partners… a fun night where we had christmas crackers and heaps of food!
childbith class graduation
After eight weeks of explanations, videos, reading material and questions – we have graduated childbirth class! Along with nine other awesome couples, we had lots of social time over supper and promises to meet for Mum’s groups and Dad’s groups (one for coffee – one for beer) during the next few months. It’s going to be so cool to meet all the new babies along the way as well.
This last class night was also Fred’s birthday – so we took his cake along to supper and made the most of it.
picnic at rabbit island
It was a wonderful sunny Nelson day for a picnic at the beach on Rabbit Island with some other pregnant friends.
[from left] Gerd, Jonathan & Brigid, Fred & Adrienne finished off the afternoon with a long walk along the beach, drawing lots of sea air into our squashed up lungs – hoping for a good nights sleep!
santa parade
On a sunny Saturday we walked to the village and watched the local santa parade along with hundreds of local kids. Mum and Dad came in too and we tried to catch treats from the floats. Just think – this time next year we’ll have a little one to bring along to see Santa!
thanksgiving in picton
To celebrate thanksgiving this year, we drove to Picton to spend some time with Ma and Grandad. We had a wonderful turkey dinner and shopped in Blenhiem before driving home the next day.

Hips & Lips
Instead of the ordinary play group arrangement – some friends of mine have all decided to form Hips & Lips! Our charter is that we are a group of parents with Nelson-born babies in late 2005 & early 2006 living in the south or west of the Nelson region. Membership to Hips & Lips is by invitation of a current member. Although our Mums are the most active members, our Dads are frequent participants to family get-togethers – and our Grandma’s Hips & Lips group is incredibly fashionable! Our primary purpose is the happy socialization of our children and a sharing, caring network of supportive friends living in the same geographic area in the same stage of life. www.hipslips.com
