For Poppy’s first Christmas we went to the Christmas Tree Farm to choose a little live tree for our living room. Poppy enjoyed playing with the decorations and was very impressed with the lights. When the tree was finished, she learned pretty quickly not to pull the ornaments off and continues to ‘ooooh’ and ‘ahhhh’ at the lights.
This is Poppy’s first year Christmas decoration… a little dog in a stocking.

Poppy is cutting two more teeth – one on each side of her bottom two front teeth.
Tasman District Council sponsored a teddies and toys afternoon in the park. Poppy had a great time watching all the kids and playing at some of the activities. She loved the parachute game and was lucky enough to win a prize in the treasure hunt with Daddy. She was presented with a book by Snow White.
Poppy was invited to two birthday parties in one day! Ayla had her first birthday surrounded by lots of friends and family and a bouncy castle!
Harvey’s Mum, Melonie, turned 40 this week and had a summer BBQ with live music to celebrate.
GranJan and Yogi invited Adrienne and Poppy to come to Christchurch with them for two nights. We left really early one morning so Poppy was still asleep for most of the journey….. when she woke up for breakfast, she realised Anya the dog was also with us so her face lit up!
We settled into the dog-friendly motel and Poppy played with Anya on the lawn. Then we went to the wonderful QEII pool and had fun in the white water river.
After GranJan’s birthday picnic lunch on the lawn with Anya – we went shopping! Here is Poppy in her new cart cover that GranJan made.

In the afternoon we went to Christmas at Ballentynes where Poppy met Santa, played with all the decorations and posted her note to the North Pole.
The next morning there was lots of time for playing with Yogi before getting back on the road to Nelson.
Poppy invited Daddy over to have a birthday tea tonight – GranJan and Yogi were also invited. Poppy had her first real meal with us – we just cut up the same food we served for dinner and she managed really well. Although she really wanted some of the birthday cupcake – she could only watch as Daddy ate it all up! Poppy and Adrienne gave Fred a photo album with lots of Poppy photos in them for his birthday.
