Poppy’s first teething rusk – it’s really helping all those teeth come through!

Adrienne & Poppy are farm-sitting while Yogi & GranJan are overseas. Every day we feed the chickens and play with the sheep and transfer the little horse to his feed paddock. Anya the husky helps us with our chores and at the end of the day we collect the eggs when we put the chickens to bed.

Poppy has decided life at ground level is not for her and if there is something to hold onto, she will try to climb it. Barstools are a favourite as once she is on her feet she can walk 360 degrees right around it while hanging on. Her highchair, our headboard and anyone’s pants legs are all fair game as well. While we’ve been at the farm she has found some new things to climb….

Poppy wore her special poppy & daisy dress to Maddie’s party at MacMillan’s today. Pam made an amazing Katy Pig cake and the kids had a blast running around the grounds after we played some singing games.

Fred and Adrienne’s weekend hobby is geocaching so they were thrilled to take Poppy on her first hunt this weekend. Some local cachers had arranged an event cache on Rabbit Island so everyone got to meet Poppy for the first time. The last geocaching event we attended was when Adrienne was pregnant. Poppy still wasn’t over her cold so wasn’t in the best mood – but got to make friends with Elliot (8 months old) and share her toys.

It was a funny thought to remember this time last year we came to the ecofest05 and saw cloth nappies for the first time. Just one year later and GranJan has her own business making YoYo Nappies and had a stall at the fair promoting them to others. Ma and Pa came over from Picton to attend and we went to a local cafe for lunch afterwards.
