broadgreen house carols

NeeNe and Adrienne were both in the Special Choir at Marsden College so enjoy getting together for a carol sing-a-long at this time of year.  Poppy raced up to the front when they asked for a child to come and sing on the microphone – she sang Jingle Bells well enough to win a freshly cooked pikelet with jam and cream from one of the food vendors.  There were lots of other wee girls her age to play with and the rain and wind stayed away for a lovely evening.  The choir invited all the kids to come up and sing with them towards the end.

christchurch trip

We had a fabulous time in Christchurch visiting Ayla and meeting Qing Qing.  We stayed in a motel where we met Amy and her lovely kids. We spent time walking the streets of Christchurch contemplating the earthquake damage which was sobering and concerning.

The kids had a fabulous time at the sunny A&P show and having a swim at the gardens.  It was also wonderful to meet little Soul, Ayla & Jana’s new brother.

melbourne cup 2010

As we do every year, Yogi & GranJan, Poppy & Adrienne all choose horses based on the relevance of their name to our personalities or interests.  This year the line up is:

  • Poppy: Americain (white, blue strip with white stars, red white and blue striped sleeves and cap)
  • Adrienne: Precedence (black and white checks, yellow sleeves, black and white cap)
  • GranJan: Zipping (navy blue, white armbands, white cap)
  • Yogi: Shocking (black, orange and black sash and cap)

And Poppy WON!  GranJan’s horse Zipping came fourth in the race for the third time.  Adrienne’s horse came 8th and Yogi’s came 18th!
