dental nurse
Poppy had her first trip to the Dental Nurse today and, in preparation, we borrowed some books from the library about going to the dentist and how to keep your teeth healthy. She had a good visit and her lovely nurse Jan made her a spider.
new preschool
Poppy needed another 8 hours a week in preschool before she turns 3 years old to maximise the government’s 20 hours free programme. Instead of increase her hours at Paula’s Preschool, I enrolled her at a brand new centre that’s just opened up in Richmond and she started in their opening week.
The building uses all the latest materials and layout for modern schools and the resources are all brand new. The teachers are lovely – especially Poppy’s under 3.5 room supervisor, Andie. She plays the guitar and has a very modern, highly-trained approach to dealing with toddlers.
Poppy loves it and I feel I’ve expanded her learning and social opportunities by splitting her hours between two quality preschools.
queen’s gardens
We met our Hips & Lips crew at Riverside Park this morning and then walked through the Queen’s Gardens to feed the ducks.
crazy hair at preschool
Poppy borrowed a great sparkly blue wig from GranJan for Crazy Hair Day at preschool. I found some matching clothes and she had a fun afternoon dressed up!
new hair & new toy
Poppy had her hair cut by Whitnie again and we’ve started to gel & spike it up if we get time in the mornings! We found an awesome toy from the Richmond Waimea Toy Library that includes a kitchen you place over your keyboard to interact with software. Poppy really enjoyed it and learned lots about recipes and baking. Unfortunately, it is a little old to find available in stores… but I will keep trying on ebay.com.
