As Poppy consistently improves her mouse skills we go shopping for a little mouse to fit her hand. She picks out a red laptop mouse (one of the smaller variety) and is enjoying her new toy!

I took Poppy for a walk this morning around to Ben Cooper park where all the Richmond kids were playing their Saturday morning soccer.  I thought Poppy would enjoy watching the kids running around with the balls…. no, she would rather PLAY thank you!  So she grabbed a training ball and added herself to the training session and had a lot of fun running around the paddock.  Next week we’ll get up earlier and watch the younger kids playing – I think the youngest are 4 years old.

Poppy just spent 10 minutes ‘playing’ inside the mailbox!  As I weeded nearby, she squeezed herself in there and sang songs and generally felt snug and secure!  This is a child who really likes small spaces and can often be found under the covers at the foot of the bed singing away to herself.  She can also squeeze through small holes and enjoys hiding in dark cupboards when playing hide & seek.

As an update to my software post, I have found the Reader Rabbit series are the best I’ve found from the selection at the Toy Library and PreSchool.  The colouring section of the Toddler disc kept Poppy engaged for 20 minutes!  I will look for more in the series whilst in the US next month.

Poppy had a fantastic time this morning at the Nelson Chipmunks adventure playground with her friends.

We are very excited about Crazy Uncle Christopher coming to Nelson for a few days.  Poppy has been reviewing photos from his last visit a couple of years ago when she was 6 months old.
