Poppy Ford: YouTube Video Editor

Poppy’s friends brought their parents and grandparents to our annual party on Rabbit Island this year…. it was a hot summer day and the bouncy castle was a big hit… in fact, Poppy still wanted to jump even as it was deflating for packing up!

Santa was awesome and Poppy had a shy but positive reaction to him handing her a gift of bright red togs covered in colourful fish. Playing in the sea was exciting too…. it was a really fun but tiring day and Poppy had a kip on the couch at the farm afterwards.

In keeping with tradition, Poppy received a lovely christmas decoration to add to our tree from Gran Jan. She chose it over in Sydney and it’s a real beauty. Poppy tried it out on the tree at the farm before adding it to her last year’s ornament on our tree at home. By the time Poppy is ready to leave home, she’ll have a full set of decorations to take with her – one from GranJan every year.

Alya’s party was a BBQ at her house with Chloe, Poppy and a few of her other friends.

Whitnie’s Mum snapped this photo of us and developed it with her roll. It’s a classic shot because Poppy is having a big tantrum at being asked to leave the shower after having a spa with her friends and putting her clothes on. As you can see, it was an action shot and my face is the typical “I will remain calm and in control” while a 2 year old is using every diversionary tactic to avoid having her nappy put on. All of this, mind you, as we are guests at a party!  Less than 5 minutes later she is happy again – although her meltdown can be partly attributed to her tiredness at such a fun day.  She was asleep in the car minutes after leaving the party.

Poppy’s Grandpa Bill from Madison, Indiana LOOOOVES tractors!  Here is a great article about him with his photo on the cover of the local Madison paper.  He included the newspaper in with Christmas gifts that arrived today from the USA and are now under our tree.

Yogi & GranJan went to visit their two sons in Sydney for 10 days so we said goodbye at the airport. Poppy was fascinated with the elevator and went up and down several times while we were waiting for the boarding call.

At last Yogi & GranJan arrive home and were very pleased to see Poppy again!

We bought some rice bubbles to take to Natureland to feed the animals and Poppy had her first bowl of them herself…. she was fascinated with the sounds and really liked the taste! Back to wholegrain oats, mashed banana & rice milk ….
