nelson santa parade

We joined Aunty NeeNe just outside her house in Weka Street for the Nelson Santa Parade. Poppy enjoyed the balloons and treats thrown by the clowns and especially loved the Santa float. I yelled out Poppy’s name to Santa so he said “Happy Christmas Poppy!” over his microphone.

After the parade we walked down to Founders Park where the Christmas Festival was in full swing. GranJan was there with her YoYo Nappy stall. Poppy loved watching the dancers and tried to get up on stage with them! Here is a photo of her with one of the big chicken props decorating one of the inside venues.

Mummy & Poppy walked down to Queen Street to watch the annual Santa Parade.

Appleby Playcentre had a float in it this year…. perhaps Poppy can be IN the parade next year!

Yogi came down to meet us and helped keep Poppy out of the burning hot sun…

Santa was fun… however, Poppy’s favourite float were the Fire Engines and their sirens and being thrown candy canes from the clowns.

Our first real session at Appleby Playcentre this morning was energetic! Yogi stopped in to see Poppy playing and taught her to drill and hammer in the woodworking area. Poppy’s favourite activities were all the messy ones – and then she loved washing her hands in the kiddy-sized bathroom. I’m sure we’ll have many fun Wednesday mornings with her new friends at Playcentre!
