After a long day, Mummy gives Poppy her final present – a Little Miss Naughty nighty!
On the first of February, 2008, Poppy turned two. Here are some photos from our birthday tea at the farm with GranJan & Yogi.
9.20am and the beach looks wonderful! We’ve just spent 45 minutes at the beach putting up the party tent and didn’t get wet at all. Although it’s overcast, there is no wind! Forecast says improving throughout the day so hopefully the rain will stay in town. Lowest tide is at 1pm so there is plenty of beach to build on. See you there!
It’s looking clear of rain in Appleby at 8am – will pop down to the beach and check the wind etc. and post another update.
There are a few spots of rain and clouds at 7.30am – not enough to stop the party!
We are looking forward to seeing you on the beach at Access 7 this morning at Rabbit Island. The motorbike races are also on down near Beach Access 4 if you want to check them out afterwards!
Poppy’s last day being 1 year old… her Tiny Tots teachers and friends give her a little party to say Happy Birthday and goodbye! Mummy baked cheesy biscuits and poppyseed cupcakes for everyone.

Just before Poppy turns two years old, Adrienne buys tickets to Christchurch as a special treat. Aeroplanes are one of Poppy’s favourite things and she is very excited to be getting on one. In fact, after our flight down we disembark and walk past other aircraft on our way to the terminal… as we pass each plane, Poppy says “That one now!”
Unfortunately, Adrienne’s digital camera was stolen from the car outside the motel room on the first night and therefore we have no photos of the first part of the trip to share. After buying a new camera, we are back in business! This is the first photo taken with the new camera – by Vince the salesman! For those who are interested: Fujifilm FinePix 8.3 with Face Definition.
Poppy enjoyed going up and down in elevators and stairs in the various Malls we visited.

Like last year, Ayla’s family camped out at the Mapua Leisure Park over the holiday. Poppy & Adrienne went to visit them and had a lovely swim in the sea.
